![]() Once upon a time, back in September 1998, a little Buz was born. Tiny and fragile he would sit on bars in a hand full of pubs and wait for people to pay his little black and white pages some attention. Little Buz was lonely, so he adopted a family. His new family loved him very much and it wasn't long before he found himself being a very treasured little Buz. He liked growing up with the people around him who were just as passionate about his home towns and surrounding areas as he was. Then one day he decided it was time to grow up a little bit more so he found a magic Buz lamp, he rubbed the lamp, made a wish and got some colour in his Buz cheeks, this fattened him up a little bit giving him lots more inside so he decided he would put on his beautiful Buz wellington boots and start his journey spreading himself out so he could meet more Buz people. Buz really buzzed meeting new friends and it wasn’t long before he realised he needed a proper home to live in, so his newly adopted family who treasured him very much found him somewhere nice to live. He got bigger and better month by month and his family cherished him, nurturing him and helped him become a more colourful and glossy Buz for all his friends to see. As the months flew by he found thousands of new pals from all over the place, his Buz buddies would ring him, send him letters and email him too, this made Buz very, very cheery indeed. He would tell everyone about different places to go for nights out and music, singers and bands, where to go to eat, to see a good show at the theatre and even how to win competitions. Soon everyone wanted to see what Buz had to say every month. He was getting greater and growing up fast! He was now a big Buz with lots to share and before he new it, it was time to celebrate his big Buz 10th Birthday! ![]() Happy 10th Birthday Buz As a child I was inspired by a lot of famous people, singers, TV presenters, actors and actresses and storytellers too! Its over the years working with the Buz magazine I have come to realise that real life people are a lot more inspirational! People from across the Wirral have shared their enthusiasm for all things local, motivating me more and more into becoming very passionate (some would call it an obsession) about the Buz and its ‘story’. Over the years it has faced its problems, just like in real life and with help from everyone involved it has always made it through the other side. Buz has gone from strength to strength working its way across the peninsular every month for the last 10 years and I am so proud, very privileged and as passionate now about the Buz as I was when first I joined the Buz family eight years ago. Whatever trials and tribulations Buz has faced there is one huge vital ingredient making the recipe a successful one, and that is you! You, the reader are the most important of all. Wirral is a very special place and Buz is only a tiny part of what is local, but you make us louder and prouder every year. Without you, the little black and white Buz would not have grown up, put on his Buz wellies and spread his glossy wings into the fantastic Buz it is today. So please share with us in the celebrations for our first decade and continue to read, support and love the Buz just as much as we all do. ![]() Happy Birthday Buz Here is to the next 10 Years! See you next month
