![]() Often labelled as the ‘Godfather’ of electronic music, he has been in the game for over 30 years now and never fails to slip behind with his signature style that combines gloomy themes of depersonalisation and alienation accompanied by energetic synthesizer work. Many will remember him for his first big hit ‘Are friends electric?’ soon to be followed by the never to be forgotten’ ‘Cars’ along with many other successful records! Numan is one of the most covered and remixed artists of the last 30 years. A roll call of those artists who have performed or sampled his songs is virtually a who's who of modern music. With the likes of Damon Albarn (Blur), Jarvis Cocker, The Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Sugababes, Basement Jaxx, Smashing Pumpkins, Armand Van Helden and DJ Hell. This inspirational talent is back once again working on two new albums – Dead Son Rising, an album of new tracks built out of demos he re-discovered last year, and Splinter, the full follow-up to 2006's Jagged, which will be released in early 2010.
